Joe Watkins

Joe is the Managing Partner of Hewsons Executive Coaching. He coaches clients across a range of industries including Banking, Engineering, Financial Services, Government, IT, Legal, Motor Vehicles, Manufacturing, Medical and Private Equity.

Joe has held senior accountabilities in marketing, sales and regional management for over 20 years in both large and small business environments. Over the last 20 years, he has worked in leadership development both in Australia and the US and has delivered programmes to over 10,000 people, successfully coaching hundreds of people in areas such as leadership, communication, effectiveness, relationships, career development and producing extraordinary results.

Joe has a depth of understanding and compassion for people's professional and personal development that only comes from being on the journey himself. You will get real, practical and innovative coaching when you work with Joe based on many years of experience.

Joe lives on the Hawkesbury River in Sydney with his wife and enjoys spending his weekends in the company of friends and making a good attempt at catching fish off his jetty.

Carolyn Dean

Carolyn is one of the partners at Hewsons Executive Coaching. She has 26 years of experience in management and has spent a total of 34 years working in businesses, her own and others. Over the past 21 years Carolyn has coached in excess of 20,000 people around the world in communication, teamwork, leadership, project management and strategy development, working with the leadership of businesses such as BHPBilliton, Shell, Incitec Pivot, Yarra Valley Water, Santos and CSR Sugar.

Carolyn’s extraordinary ability to empower others comes from a profound understanding and respect for people’s courage as a result of her own personal journey, and her commitment to integrity and authenticity.

Carolyn is passionate about supporting people in bringing authenticity to their leadership and through that transforming organisations into places that have a powerful, positive impact on broader society.

Carolyn lives in a regional town in Victoria, close to Melbourne, with her husband, daughter, son and cat, where she indulges in her other creative passions of gardening, painting and renovating.

Richard Hewson

Richard founded Hewsons and built it into one of Australia’s leading edge executive coaching organisations with a proven track record for success across many industries. He has worked with high-profile clients such as AAMI, Aurecon, Boral, Caltex, CBA, Cisco Systems, DLA Phillips Fox, Freehills, IAG, Johnson & Johnson, Jones Lang LaSalle, Kellogg Brown & Root, Promina, Qantas, SAP, UXC and Westpac.

Richard has been an executive coach for over 15 years and is empathetic, compassionate and loves working with people. This experience, combined with the depth travelled along his journey has given him considerable abilities, insights and knowledge of most of the outcomes, issues, and demands faced by today’s executives across most industries.

Richard’s passion is assisting leaders to authentically excel, engaging themselves and their people to achieve their desired results more quickly and easily.
He previously worked in the insurance and superannuation industries where he was credited with bringing a particular insurance agency into the top 3% in the world for over seven consecutive years. He is also highly experienced and successful in sales and business development.

He resides in Sydney's Northern suburbs with his wife, his son is starting to climb the corporate ladder whilst his daughter is completing her university education. Richard has a leadership role in his local church and enjoys long distance running, swimming and rugby.

Alan Bustany

Alan has a background in Mathematics and Technology and brings a passion for what is possible to his coaching. He has an ability to connect with and empower people who have a hard-nosed bottom-line approach to business as well as those who might be naturally more open to people-based approaches. He has worked as a programmer, as a project manager, in management, as a facilitator, as a consultant, and as an entrepreneur, and brings this broad range of experience to each assignment.

Alan has delivered programmes to over 2,000 people successfully coaching in areas such as leadership, communication, effectiveness, project management, and relationships. He has also provided effective one-on-one executive coaching in the Financial Services and other industries.

Alan is a rare combination of the theoretical and the practical; the professional and the personal; the scientist and the humanist. A combination that provides the foundation for real, practical, and innovative coaching that builds on your own wealth of experience and skills.

Alan lives in Sydney with his wife and dog. He enjoys using his people and maths skills to provide entertainment for people whilst he removes their money at Poker.

David Campbell

David has had a long senior executive career with prominent Australian companies. He also has a wealth of experience with CEO’s, Managing Directors and senior management as a result of his executive search work and fully understands their challenges and concerns.

David believes in creating long term relationships with clients and has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor to senior management. Maggie Cane - Regional NSW

Maggie is a highly experienced coach.  Her experience in the area of training and empowerment spans 30 years and has included various methodologies from Effectiveness Training, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Psychodrama, to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Ontology and Trainer training.

In addition to her coaching expertise, Maggie also brings a depth of experience and award-winning skills in sales, client satisfaction and marketing, having been awarded numerous awards for excellence in sales and marketing during her years in Real Estate as salesperson and sales manager.

Maggie has a deep appreciation of the difference an individual can make in an enterprise. Her background consists of a diverse range of industries, including broadcasting, recruitment, real estate, entertainment, retail, education and government agencies. She has worked with thousands of people both here in Australia and also in New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East and North America.

Her specialties are developing people’s skills in interpersonal communication, management, project development and delivery, teamwork, plus developing their ability to foster leadership in and from those around them – effectively expanding people’s sphere of influence and accomplishment.  Her commitment and delight in seeing others exceed their own expectations is supported by her humour and down to earth approach.

Bruce Davis

Bruce Davis is one of Hewsons’ most experienced coaches and is based in Melbourne.

He is a skillful communicator with a passion for what people can accomplish when they work together. Over the past 30 years he has earned himself a reputation as a respected and dynamic trainer and educator.

Bruce considers that his training in being able to get the best out of people began when the late and great Norm Smith coached him as a 16-year-old with the South Melbourne Football Club. As a young man that experience shaped the foundation for a life committed to empowering people and training them to accomplish their dreams and goals. In the 1990’s he began a career as a professional trainer with one of the world’s largest training and development companies and over the next 17 years he traveled throughout Australia, New Zealand and Japan training people in leadership, team building and communication.

Bruce’s greatest strength is working with people to create opportunities for them to excel. He has a deep and intimate understanding of the phenomenon of building great teams and has demonstrated his ability to create and empower effective and dynamic organisational cultures through working with diverse groups such as The Young President’s Organisation, the Victorian Racing Club, Victorian regional aboriginal groups and his long-time vocation as a lecturer with Victoria University

Bruce has lived in the seaside suburb of Williamstown with his wife and 2 children for over 30 years and, along with his passion for and professional work in photography, he seeks out adventure in far off places and has an ear for the sweet sound of the blues played live and up close.

Dennis Moore

Dennis has held senior executive roles for over 30 years, primarily with Australia’s largest retailer, successfully managing sales and profit budgets exceeding $1.5 billion per annum. He has operated at the centre of change, introducing Category and Brand management to retail and has developed and launched successful marketing programs across Australia.

Some of Dennis’ experiences include successfully coaching teams of executives in a corporate environment to achieve their business and personal objectives. Dennis has coached a Marketing Manager to address key non performance issues which resulted in a promotion to the management team. He has also assisted Brand Managers to fit into a large organisation and to achieve results through other people. In another instance he worked with CEO as a coach and mentor in the area of people management and strategy development, whilst growing the business dramatically.

Wendy Moscovis

Wendy is an extraordinary coach with over 25 years experience in empowering people in communication, leadership, teamwork and accomplishment. Delivering programmes in organisations, institutions and to the general public, she has successfully coached over 30,000 people globally, from different cultures and contexts, to produce breakthrough results.

In addition, Wendy has a deep professional management background. She held senior management positions in a leading global training and development company and in her regional management role with that business she pioneered its start up operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and managed offices in Japan, India and Mexico. In addition to managing regional businesses and delivering coaching and training programmes herself, she was also accountable for the development of others as coaches and programme deliverers.

Wendy’s ability to consistently empower others to produce results and satisfaction in their work is based in her direct and unflinching commitment to the practice of communication and the empowerment of authenticity in the workplace.

She lives in the Blue Mountains of NSW with her husband.

Deborah Protter

Deborah is our Perth based Executive Coach and has over 30 years’ international experience educating, training and mentoring women leaders in business, government, the arts, politics and the community.

She has trained and coached over ten thousand people, mentoring and coaching executives and leaders of government agencies, companies and community-based organisations in education, industry, women’s development, public health and international development in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia and Asia. Her client base is diverse, ranging from executives and Board members of multinationals like Shell, PwC, Ford, Esso and P&O, to agencies like the Arts Council of Australia.

Deborah is passionate about the development of human potential. Her core belief is that every person has abilities that are distinct. Her clients are able to identify their unique strengths and talents, build new capacities for themselves and live into all they can be.

Deborah moved from London in 2006 to make a new home in Perth with her husband and daughter. She was born and bred in Yorkshire, something she is proud of.

Michelle Robin

Michelle has held executive positions in a number of IT organisations internationally (South Africa and New Zealand) over her 30+ years in business.

Michelle thrives on enabling others to find their true niche and succeed in their chosen field. She has led large teams through strategic change, so values process and the benefits it brings. She supports others in finding their real strengths and playing to these. Michelle has worked in numerous diverse cultural environments and also through earthquake disasters. This has allowed her to understand first hand, the impact that has on the leaders in business and community.

Her primary operating principle: “Believing more in her clients than they believe in themselves”. This allows clients to step outside their comfort zone with her support and awaken those attributes that have been hidden. Her clients learn to recognise their strengths and those activities which energise them and then find support for those areas which are not their strengths.

Developed over years of experience, Michelle brings to her facilitation, energy and a down to earth understanding of what is required to reach the outcomes agreed. Her ability to coach and mentor is a competency that has allowed her to make a significant contribution to those organisations she has worked with.
Michelle has recently moved to Melbourne from New Zealand with her daughter, and loves the vibrancy of her new city!

Joanne Day

Joanne operates as our Office Manager and Administrator. She brings 20 years of diversity and experience in administration, sales and business management. She has owned and operated a small business in the retail industry and was an Operations Manager for a textiles wholesaler throughout Australia and South East Asia.

Joanne has worked as a Sales Manager in the Travel industry for Tourism NSW and Qantas as well as Account Manager for an Executive Travel Management company. She also enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent in the Lower North Shore of Sydney. In recent years Joanne has consulted to an Event Management Company coordinating, recruiting and training staff for large-scale events including the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Joanne is passionate about her family life and is an active member in her children’s local school community in The Hills district. She loves travelling to exciting new destinations, reading, meditation, yoga and skiing.
